General Burnside Island State ParkGeneral Burnside State Park is located in just south of Somerset, Kentucky in Pulaski County. The park encompasses a 430 acre island in Lake Cumberland, making it Kentucky's only island park. The park is named for General Ambrose E. Burnside, a Union General during the Civil War who stationed his troops that the park now occupies.

The campground features 94 sites with utility hookups, two central service buildings with showers and rest rooms, and a dump station. Closed Nov 1 - Mar 31. Check-out by 2:00 p.m., Eastern time. Pets are allowed if restrained.
